As one of our nearest neighbours, the Fountain of Nineveh, has become a symbol of homely love and belonging.
In the 19c the village Provost put an iron Heron on top of the fountain and it has stayed there ever since. At the weekend I came across a DIVERTED TRAFFIC sign in front of the fountain. The arrow was pointing skywards!
For O-Grade English I studied ‘The Flight of the Heron’ by D K Broster. This book inspired me to read more and more!
