Kintore’s Suffragette

Caroline Phillips (1870-1956) was a pioneering Aberdeen journalist who put job her on the line to spearhead the suffrage movement in the north east of Scotland.

One hundred years on, and whilst women can now vote, we still have widespread misogyny and patriarchy. Caroline’s cause continues.

[please note: the images of the Suffragette meeting at Laurencekirk are contemporaneous with Caroline Phillips activism but do not capture her]
