This is an old review of an old book. I find that I am not well enough versed to understand the full context and that I struggle with some of the quoted propositions particularly those constructed as ‘double negatives’.
All that I can confidently say, at this stage in my life, is my belief (yes, belief) that philosophy has a fundamentally important place in science, whatever “the attitude”!
