A fragile narrative or non-narrative

This film is based on Scotland’s Close, Bo’ness.

The idents are all taken from newspaper entries of years long gone that relate to some of the happenings of the residents.

Number 37 Scotland’s Close, featured in the images, is on the ‘Buildings At Risk’ Register.

The quote at the beginning “No short cuts repeats the clock” is by Edmund De Waal (The White Road)

The quote at the end “Entries that made up a fragile narrative or non-narrative” is by A S Byatt (Possession)

The old film footage is from the quite wonderful ‘From Scotland With Love’, a documentary feature film directed by Virginia Heath.

The song is ‘Pauper’s Dough’ by King Creosote (Kenny Anderson).
