A frustrated ‘Specialist’

I am a frustrated “specialist”.

I say this as an NHS Consultant who has worked in Scotland for more then twenty years.

We live in a world where standardisation and regulation have ever greater remit.

I aspire to be a “generalist”. I do not say this without a lifetime of consideration.

There are a number of recent UK political leads who seem to completely misunderstand what generalism is all about.

I have kept a few newspaper reports. They have no particular order, but all are from recent months:

Investment falls by billion (July 2015) (2)
Bad Medicine (July 2015) GP funding 26 July 2015 (2) Nine surgeries 31 July 2015a The Times on GPs - July 2015
